How U.S. Nutrition and Hunger could be different



FEMA could have a better / quicker / less fragmented / less complicated / adequately staffed and funded response to natural disasters / emergencies

Food banks / food programs could offer nutritious / healthy food and education

Grocery stores, restaurants, and other food vendors could put less food in dumpsters

Prison food could be healthier and incorporate farming / nutritional education

Dollar stores could offer healthier food options to consumers

School lunches could have less food waste / share excess food

Community fridges and pantries could be available

Grocery stores could sell unattractive, mislabeled, or expired food at lower cost

Schools / colleges could have hygiene and food pantries

Cafe, toll, and fast food drive-through patrons could pay-it-forward

Cheap, healthy fast food could be available

Nutritional education, weekly groceries, and peer circles could change eating habits

Meals could be delivered to the elderly, disabled, new mothers, sick, or mentally ill

Food systems could be mapped out

Students could cook, serve, and clean up lunch

Healthy school meals could be free for children

Farm subsidies could be used to create healthy school lunches

Communities, schools, homes could have gardens and/or food forests
