China's foreign aid could create unsustainable debt and environmental issues in developing countries

"In South Asia, the now infamous Hambantota port deal in Sri Lanka (where Sri Lanka ended up selling a port to China to pay off the debt accrued by building it) has crystalized concerns that some Chinese loans-for-infrastructure deals might create unsustainable debt burdens that harm countries’ development aims."
