"One trend of particular concern is the increasing role of the private sector...DFID's focus on the private sector stretches from supporting the expansion of private healthcare and education in developing countries and the promotion of large public-private partnerships (PPPs) in energy, to the deregulation of agriculture to encourage multinational business ‘investments’...A related trend is the increased use of private contractors to deliver aid programmes on behalf of the government."
