Help Artists out by becoming a Weekend Art Dealer

By David

Help Artists out by being a Weekend Art Dealer, there is so much complexity for artists to get their work seen, and the process is so expensive, so artists struggle to survive...

So wouldn't it be cool if on a part time basis, on the weekends, people that love art would, take a promising artist out to dinner, visit their studios, or places they have their art, and view their works of art.

Also these weekend art dealers, could get commissions for artists in trade for works of art. And they could sell the artists works, and help them do group shows. And create interest in their works...

These Weekend Art Dealers could also participate in many artists careers and eventually might become as successful as the full time art dealers.

We have to support our creative Humans if we want to stay Human!

John Great idea, would be great if there was an official program or website people could go to
john David, I love this idea. I know many artists who are not represented in galleries and have been considering hosting gatherings in my home as a venue to showcase artists and their works. You have inspired me to give it a go.

NYC subways should have platform doors

By John

This would decrease needless deaths in the subways, not to mention garbage!

Restaurants could offer separate checks to groups in exchange for automatic gratuity

By Doug

When I go to a restaurant with a group of friends, I always feel guilty about asking for separate checks, mostly for fear of annoying the waiter. But when I think about it, it's pretty annoying that restaurant patrons—who, unless they are a family or a couple, would tend to prefer separate checks—are by default expected to calculate how much each person owes. It's always a fiasco: no one ever has correct change; no one wants to ask the waiter to change a 20; some people (but not all) want to pay with credit card; one or two people inevitably end up overpaying, or at least thinking they did.

Some restaurants are starting to modernize their technology in ways that make it easier for people in a group to pay separately. But for restaurants that can't afford an infrastructure update and don't want to make life hard for their employees, maybe they could start by encouraging customers to ask for separate checks, while charging automatic gratuity in exchange for the convenience. I, for one, would welcome the chance to be told exactly what I owe. Post-meal arithmetic always gives me indigestion.

Real-time hiking and skiing reports

By Kiran

Wouldn't it be great if people could tweet or find a place to post real-time unbiased opinions of trail conditions? Would be super helpful to know if for example a trail is too muddy or a ski trail powder rocks!

Homeless shelters could allow alcoholics to drink

By Jaya

This could save taxpayer money by reducing the need for police and medical services and provide treatment options for homeless alcoholics.
